Singapore and Back
The last time I visited Singapore was well over 10 years ago, so I was excited to make the long journey back. 22 hours long that is, but well worth the sleep, movies, more sleep day of travel. I was traveling with a client to get him ready for a performance so I knew my “free time” was limited, but I managed to pack a lot in. The first thing that takes your breath away is the architecture. The mix of old and new, and extremely modern, daring design is like nothing I’ve ever seen. I was able to chill atop the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, walk along Merlion Park, grab lunch in one of the best dumplings restaurants and visit China Town. I was sad to see Raffles Hotel (where I stayed last time) closed for renovations, a colonial styled hotel dating back to the 1880’s known for its original Singapore Sling. I also didn’t have time to visit Gardens by the Bay which looked extraordinary even from afar. I capped the trip with an early morning workout and swim at the JW Marriott’s incredible infinity pool. The perfect end to a quick work trip.
