Today’s Set Up | No. 2

It’s summer, it’s summer? Yes, it’s summer.  Still craving the basics that work and discovering a few new brands and products that I’ve added to the routine.  From a natural bug repellant to the newly reformulated best selling bronzer here’s “today’s set up” and what I’ll be using all summer.

I still haven’t gotten my hair cut or colored in over 4 months so it’s gone from a very short pixie to a shaggy wavy wild pixie that I’m quite enjoying. I have naturally curly hair that needs a bit of a nudge so I’ve been playing with new combos of product to get those perfect bouncy, defined curls.  After I shower, spritz my hair with a primer or detangling spray I like to add this Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion throughout my hair. Next tousel, scrunch and define curls with your fingers and let air dry for a bit before using a diffuser attachment on your hairdryer. This step is very important. Tip your head over and flip from side to side while scrunching and diffusing. This will give your curls life.

Facial wipes that work. Lauren Napier Beauty Cleanse Wipes remove makeup effortlessly without the stinging or “film” that other wipes can leave behind. As a makeup artist/men’s groomer I cannot stress this point enough. I really hate an overly oily wipe or one that irritates and leaves skin feeling more dirty. Chic individual packaging, easy to take anywhere and packed with super hydrating ingredients like aloe, chamomilla and cucumber extracts, these wipes are amazing.

This product does wonders for men and women. A kit staple of mine, I use Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream along the hairline and jawline of my clients and it also tones down that “redness” around the nose and chin effortlessly. On myself I like to use a fluffy round foundation brush and swipe it across my cheeks, forehead and nose to get a subtle sun-kissed glow. The bronzer has been recently reformulated and I’m hesitant when a brand messes with such a classic, but it’s somehow even better.  My only gripe is that it only comes in one shade, it’d be nice to see a full range of colors and tones.

This brand has it all, from beautiful soaps to oils this AHURA All Natural Insect Repellant Spray is just one of the products I use regularly. Made with lemongrass, eucalyptus and citronella it’s safe enough to use on the whole family including pets. It’s my new summer scent!  I’m also loving their Sacred Smudge Spray, a smokeless alternative to traditional smudging.  Sage smudge sticks and candles are utilized for cleansing and purifying negative or stagnant energy, a wonderful morning ritual or to use in a new home.
