Today’s Set Up | No. 3

I don’t know about you but I’ve been wearing way less makeup than usual. I think “staying home” and the quarantine has ushered in a new “natural” and “go with the flow” aesthetic. This is why our skin and investing in our skincare is even more important. It’s taken me years to figure out what works for my skin (which is combination dry, oily and prone to breakouts around my chin/mouth area). Add a mask to the equation and all of a sudden I’m breaking out again and have dry patches under my chin. I’m nervous to use new products but I’m lucky enough to work in an industry where I’m sent things to try out. Here are some of my tried and true and a couple of new products to add to the mix to keep that skin glowing and clear.

First of all I want to share this innovative, insulated bag with you. WELLinsulated is a game changer. Not only as a men’s groomer but for anyone who invests in their skincare. These bags and beauty cases are intelligently designed to protect your essentials at home or on the go. They protect your skincare from heat, humidity and light that can damage your serums and sunscreen. Not only that but they have a reflective aluminum lining making it easy to clean and disinfect, so you don’t have to worry about dirty makeup bags again. www.wellinsulated.com

I use these Colbert MD Tone Control Facial Discs about once a week or whenever my skin is looking dull, breaking out or if some sun/age spots start to pop up. They’re the best little trick for clearer, brighter skin. These are the first step (after cleansing the face) to my nighttime skincare regimen. Apply to a damp face in a circular motion for 30-60 seconds and do not rinse. I follow with an oil, serum and moisturizer.

Next, I like to apply an oil to my entire face, neck, back of neck, chest, stomach…ok I bathe in it. Not really, but honestly I love oils and so does my skin. I was cautious to apply oil to an already oily, break out prone face but it has done wonders for my skin. One of my new favorite oils is from June. This CBD infused Soothing Face Serum has the most beautiful scent and leaves my skin so hydrated and plump. www.juneoils.com

I like to use this PhytoActive Serum from Royal Fern as a booster a couple times a week. It contains hyaluronic acid and highly concentrated Vitamin C to optimize the elasticity of your skin and balance an uneven complexion.

Another new product I’ve recently added to the mix, is Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum. This high-tech gel resurfaces dull skin, gently lifting away dead skin cells away by dissolving the glue that holds them to the surface. Skin is left brighter, smoother and more even. If you have oily skin prone to breakouts, this one’s for you. A simple nighttime routine is to cleanse, apply oil, this serum and a lastly a moisturizer.

A tried and true, I can’t get enough of Susanne Kaufmann Day Creme Line T perfect for dry and sensitive skin. Since I’m using so many “active” products I like to use a calming moisturizer. I love the clean scent and you can feel the hydrating effects immediately.
