Happy Things

Life is pretty stressful these days. Between picking up and moving from a place I called home for 23 years, my work and livelihood majorly impacted by COVID, home schooling and the state of the world let’s just say it’s been A LOT. Throughout it all, I’ve found a few things to bring me a quick dose of happiness and “control”. From the simple act of putting on moisturizer to a grounding walk here’s what’s helping me and I hope it can help you too.

A Brisk Walk – I put on my sneakers and go for a walk. Sometimes it’s a slow grounding walk and other times it’s a pump your arms, find the biggest hill kinda power walk. Both are equally stress relieving for me. Nike Air Max Verona

Fragrance – So simple yet can feel so decadent. Whoever said a candle is a boring non personal gift must have never lit a Diptyque or Acqua Di Parma candle. They bring instant luxury and glamour to a home and I need a lifetime supply the way I go through these candles. Also, never under estimate the power of perfume. I didn’t use a fragrance for months during lockdown and the second I sprayed myself with Byredo Eleventh Hour my senses were awaken again. It’s an instant mood enhancer.

Skincare – Basic self care that only takes a couple minutes. Close your eyes and give your face a little love. Augustinus Bader The Essence / Royal Fern Phytoactive Anti-Aging Rich Cream / Kypris Antioxidant Dew

A Drive – I forgot how much I loved going for a drive, with nowhere to go. Windows down, radio on and preferably on a gorgeous sunny day. It really brings up teen memories and the freedom it represents.
