A Couple Days in Montauk

One of our favorite summer destinations is Montauk. Even though the drive from Brooklyn seems to take longer and longer each year it’s definitely worth the 3 hour and 45 minute journey. I don’t need to tell you about how much it’s changed over the years (good and bad) it’s still a fun, laid back and magical place to recharge and feel a million miles away from the city.

This summer we decided to stay at Hero Beach Club, the “smiley face hotel” as my son calls it. For us it was the perfect place to stay, kids or no kids. Chic, friendly and the perfect mix of motel luxe on the beach. I was actually able to relax and feel like I was on a vacation with an almost 5 year old and not just a trip. Pool, beach access and beautiful rooms…just what this momma needed.

We can’t leave Montauk without a stop to the Montauk Lighthouse and George’s Lighthouse Café. The views from this spot never get old and don’t miss visiting the café for a beer and a round of corn hole. This 3,200-square-foot glass enclosed structure is definitely Montauk’s best kept secret. Stunning views (free of charge), a café, a fireplace, board games and a bar for adults.
