Dry Brushing the Face
I’ve always dry brushed my body (game changer) and now I’ve discovered the art of dry brushing the face. The technique is similar but the brushes (2 at a time) are smaller and softer for the more delicate skin on your face. Full disclosure: I love me some Botox and at the age of 45 I’ll take any extra help. However, you can put all the lotions and potions you want on your skin, get botox, fillers but if your overall skin health is poor all of this will look “done” and scream “I’ve had work done.” Dry brushing exfoliates your skin, boosts circulation, activates the lymphatic system and helps to define and depuff the face. It prepares the face to fully absorb oils, serums and moisturizers leaving truly glowing skin. It awakens the muscles under the skin and honestly feels so good it gets a bit addicting.
I personally love the Soveral Dry Face Brushes. Alexandra Soveral is a London based facialist, aromatherapist and has an award winning organic line of skincare. Made using sustainably sourced olive wood with natural bristles, they create the perfect firmness and are just so beautiful. The package also includes a Soveral brushing routine and I highly recommend checking out her Instagram for video tutorials (@soverallodon). Once you master the technique try to use 2 times a week and expect a bit of redness to come to the surface. If your skin is problematic or overly sensitive this might not be for you.
